Help end the curse of the GPZ 305
New to forum, seeking help with this cursed bike. Former owner had it for 5 years, no spark, could not get it to run. I have it for 2 years and might break the prior owner's record. With a replaced CDI, it fires on one cylinder as long as the opposite coil lead is disconnected. I have replaced pick up coils, stator (out of a KZ305, same engine, identical stator), CDI, right handlebar switch, wire harness, coils, spark plugs, ignition switch, same thing, no spark when both coils are connected. All connectors have been thoroughly cleaned. I can get the one cylinder to fire, but the bike will not start on one cylinder. At this point I can use a little help to figure out this curse.

Thanks for your reply Dragon. I did not test the spark plug wires, as there is strong spark visible on one side when the opposite side coil is disconnected. All the connectors have been squeaky cleaned. I connected all of the grounds I could see in the old and in the new wire harness. One odd thing is that before I replaced the stator, the old CDI was sparking on one side, just like is doing now, but after replacing the stator now it will not spark at all. Connecting the "new" CDI will produce one sided spark, just like it did before I replaced the stator. The only component of the ignition system I have not replaced is the magnetic rotor. I will dig out some pics of the cursed ride. Typically, she looks like a million bucks, with a chin spoiler rigged out of a Honda Interceptor.
