Default Oil and oil level VN800A

Hey all,
new to kawasaki motorcycles and just bought a 2000 Vulcan vn800a with 14K miles. it didn't come w/ the owners manual, i have ordered one but in the meantime, how do i check the oil level and what oil should i use in the bike. i live in TX so the heat in the summer is an issue.

one other thing. what is the PRI setting on the fuel selector valve for? i have had Hondas in the past and they did not have this position.

thanks

there should be a little sight glass on the right side of the motor and should be up to the top line.

Does anybody have a link where to get the owners manual? With my bike I got two service manuals but no owners manual also.
