i have a 99 vulcan 500 and it has a slight popping coming from the exhaust any tips would be welcome dont know where to start... never tinkered with a motorcycle motor but kinda wanting to learn

 

It could be a carb problem,to rich, or carb float stuck, bad exhaust valve, or a leaking intake valve, bad cam chain ,or belt... its alot to have to sort thru but if you have patience it can be done. some times alittle carb cleaning goes along way.

 

well it has been sitting for a couple of years befor i got i. i put a bottle of fuel injecter/carb cleaner in it and it got rid of the low dead spot but im thinking i may have to pul them off and really clean them it almost acts like a backfire
