Hi, just want any info on 2001 vulcan....what should I know if I buy this bike...good or bad..I'm a brandy new rider..just starting but I want my own bike..please help......and what the cost might be, high end and lower end...thanks

Other than the usual stuff when looking at new bikes (how does it run, how are the tires/cables/hoses, is the frame straight, etc), you should probably take a look at the battery/charging system. Other than that, I don't know many problem areas on the bike.

The 500 LTD is a great beginner bike. If you like cruisers, you'll love it. Power is smooth and predictable. The 500 cc engine is sport bike derived, so it likes to rev. You definitely need a tail bag or saddle bags or the rear rack to carry a little luggage as there is almost no storage on the bike itself (duh).

For a used one in good condition, in the $3k range should be about right. I don't see many used 500's around, so I can't get much more specific. KBB is saying $2800 in my area, but prices jump wildly and, as I said, there's a huge sample from which to figure this out. Take a look here to check suggested prices in your area:
