cobra exhaust pipes
Just got my new 2000 classic ltd. I want to put new pipes on it but want to keep the deep tone. Also I want to raise the volume level so I can hear the pipes instead of all the engine noise!
Has any one tried the cobra slash downs?
Thanks
Al

RE: cobra exhaust pipes
I have them on mine, awesome sound. I assume you are talking about the cobra speedsters. Lots more power.. I am a kawasaki salesman and I have the opportunity to hear lots of pipes. 3 inch Hard krome sound great also. vance and hines comes up short. The speedsters have a powerport that the cobra rep explained to me like this.... Straight pipes let the exhaust flow as freely as it wants but the speedsters have a built in powerport that discreetly has a pipe that connects both pipes and it creates a vortex that sucks the exhaust out thus increasing horsepower as well as increasing fuel milage. The 3 different versions, longs, shorts and staggered all sound nearly identical so looks should be your only concern.. Hard Krome does not have this. Vance and Hines do but the pipes look cheap and have a single heatshield that just look tacky You will not need anything else such as a power commander to use any aftermarket pipes unless you get a bigger breather, such as a hypercharger or thunder kit then you will need a power commander or cobra fi2000 etc. Ricky Fish
