Default New Nomad Rider

Just purchased Vulcan Nomad 1600 after having Honda Shadow Aero 750. Gotta tell you the Vulcan is the best bike I have ever been on. Lot's of power and it just feels so right to be on. Look forward to talking in the group again.

Welcome!! That's a good looking ride. Any plans for some mods? Saddlebags, floor boards, exhaust? Love the color, congrats

You can get plenty of ideas from some of the forums, like:www.vroc.org,customcruising.com or the delphi forums. I have an '05 Classic 1600 FI. I love the bike, but wanted to increase the performance and power. Also, I wanted my "growl" from the exhaust, as the stock pipes are too quite. The most common thing done is change the exhaust, air intake and add a fuel processer to gain better performance. I did the above changes myself and can say the bike now performs quite well. Best of luck and visit those websites I listed. There's plenty of help there too if you're having a particular problem or issue with your bike. God Bless and give yourself some time to get used to the extra weight and handling characteristics of the Nomad.

I am also a new 06 nomad owner #326 off the production line. I have a question for you, is the clear on you're nomad scratching from you're legs rubbing against it. I am having a hard time keeping that black paint looking good. I just have 1250 miles at this posting but have owned several other bikes, the wide design of the tank is beautiful but needs some protection. At this time I am going to try some 3m clear paint scratch protector, has any one else tried this? JTD

JTD...as a new 2006 Nomad owner I've been wondering about ways to protect the tank as well.

Hello Sarch. Congrats on the Nomad. Sweet ride. I know there is a company that makes some precut clear vinyl for the exact purpose of protecting the paint on the tank for the Nomad. I saw it one day surfin' online. I can not remember the site or the company though. If you give me a day or so, I can see if I can find it for ya....
