I bought one for my Nomad and after looking through the instructions I'm a bit hesitant. Are these hard to install properly? Should I have a mechanic do it or is it simple enough for even a know-nothing like me to install???

You should be able to do it. (If you can, give us a pic of the mounting point.)
It oughtta be pretty straightforward; one, maybe two actual mounting points and a cable, or "idiot clip" connector if electronic. I'm not real familiar with Nomads and the actual mount set-up. A pic will give me a better idea.
