shifting into neutral

I have just purchased a 99 Drifter with 25,000 KM on it. On occasion, when shifting on the go, it goes into neutral. I know it is the neutral finder not acting properly. but are there any solutions? The Kawi dealers suggests "no"

Try using a firmer shift with your foot.
