Default Electrical Hell

I have a 20 year old Vulcan 1500 that everyone in Texas has refused to work on. It started off with a dead battery. I replaced it. Ran for 2 days and died again. It doesnt die while riding, but after its shut off its dead. Someone told me stator was bad, I replaced it, still no good. All grounds have been checked, all wiring has been gone through. Same guy told me to replace voltage regulator. I have not done that yet. My clutch switch also has obvious short, sometimes it has to be jiggled to start, but the brand new battery still wont hold a charge, can the switch cause this whole problem? If so, can it be by-passed? If anyone knows anything, it would be greatly appreciated. I am a paint and body man, not a mechanic, any questions about paint or body for your bike I would be glad to answer. Thanks.

I would have to find a diagram to see if the switch is energized even with the ignition in the off position. So am not sure if that short is causing your battery issues. Generally I would point my finger at the ignition switch since they are used and abused. What is your generator amps while running? Are you sure that it is ok? Do you have a manual for your bike?

am looking at the schematic. Are you sure on the ground connections? That is the standard BK/Y wire.
