Binding & vibration sounds while leaning
Oh, I forgot to mention. I've been having a problem with a vibration while leaning into turns. The bike is fine tracking straight, but when I lean, especially to the left, I get this sound and vibration that sounds like something rubbing. It sort of is a low pitched howl. I suspect the drive train somewhere or possibly the hubs. I also am having handling issues. I feel like I'm driving with square wheels and the bike takes bumps very hard. I feel like I'm bouncing all over the road. Are these issues related? Does anyone have any ideas? The bike only has a little more than 11000 miles and has been ridden sparingly. It's a 2002 Drifter 1500. Thanks.

Tire wear, tire pressure and have you set your sag? http://www.gostar-racing.com/club/mo...ion_set-up.htm
Maybe your suspension is way out of wack and you are on the bottom with just a little lean.
I am not to hip on the big cruisers but the basics are all the same.

First time I wore out my rear tire I had the same problem. The noise is really bad if the back tire is cupped on the outside edges. The left side cups worse because a left turn is usuallly wider and, therefore. faster. Hmmmm.

I had the same problem with my '99 Nomad 1500 ..... I was told to increase tire pressure to 40psi front and back (that's on150/80/16's) it relieved most of it. I have Dunlops on mine. I also hear Metzlers are quieter when leaning in corners.... and Avon's the quietest...

Could also be your floating discs on the front. I've read in other forums to check they are still floating and not seized. Apparently when they become frozen in their mounts they rub on the disk pads when cornering.

My 04 Nomad was doing this, I stressed about it for weeks. Then I put some new tyres on, and hey bingo, quiet as a mouse and handles like a sports bike again. Good tyres are always a help.

one more thing for you to check, if you have spokes sometimes they will start to back offaffecting your bikes performance. Had mine checked about a month ago what a differance! Good luck!
