I am rebuilding a 1978 Kaw KM100 enduro, can't get the clutch to function....... shaft does not seem to come out far enough, the dowel pin is only like half an inch and it won't do what it used to do........ any thoughts?this bike used to run like the wind. thanks, Carl

Welcome to the forums.
dowel pin? I would get my hands on a manual and check the specs. There is a manual for your ride on ebay if you need one. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-...QQcmdZViewItem

RE: Kawasaki 1978 KM100 clutch troubles
If it's anything like my KZ, the clutch cable hooks up to a small cam on the LH side cover, andactuates the release rod for the clutch.
I thought I had lost something when I tried putting everything back together because there was absolutely no tension on the clutch lever. After messing with the adjustment nut on end of that release rod, it took care of all my problems.
