Default Jetting was fine until....

So since the cam mod I've spent some time refining the jetting in the bike. For the last month I've been running a 128 main and the clip on the second slot down with a kdx snorkel.
All has been great. Lots of pull from about 3000rmp to 8000.
I ride everyday on country roads. Last week I went on a 500km ride on mostly highways doing about 120 km/hr.
Now my surging is back. Not the miss between 6 and 7 k. This is the lean surge I had with the stock set up. I've moved the clip all the way down and still have a little surge around 5k while cruising.
I don't want to put the 132 in as it's to rich with the lid and snorkel on.

Could this be valves? Or even the UNI filter running dry from an almost full throttle run?
It's not fuel for sure..2 tanks later still doing it.

Any thoughts?

You can order a 130 main from Dynojet if you feel the 128 is on the lean side and the 132 a little rich for you set up. They are $2.00 per jet and I do not know if they have a minimum order.

They offer mains in increments of 2 so if you or anyone else feel the needs for lets say a 126 or a 134 they offer them a $2 per jet.

Just give them a call. My experience with them via phone has been great.

Yes I know....lid off. I just don't like the noise on long trips.
So since I have to move that needle up so much, it means that the 128 is probably too lean?

I assume your running the stock header with some kind of slip-on.... ? If so and starting with a stock CV, at your altitude - if you were to pull the lid, install the DJ kit as per stage 2 but put in the #132 and set the needle clip one notch lower on the needle than stage 2 ( I think that's the 4th notch down?) you would still be lean. Your AFR would approach 14.5:1 from 3k to 6k and never even get down to 13:1 on up in the RPM's... But you'll gain over 1 hp over the stage 2 w 128 setup and no lid. I have no idea how much you'll gain over lids and snorkels..

That's what I did originally. And I had bog at 4 k with that set up and a not so smooth transition to WOT. Ended up moving clip up to the 2nd notch from the top. Had slight hesitation at WOT still but no surge.

No I don't have a slip on. Stock exhaust still.

Thanks. Maybe I will just to try them out.

Lol! Ok I will come back seeking knowledge when I have ascended to the realm of the aftermarket exhaust !

Actually I was thinking that was a part of my problem....next season.

You shouldn't be on the main while cruising. What pilot jet are you using? Maybe try increasing the pilot one or two sizes
