There wasn't much point in leaving it connected after upgrading to the ASV shorty clutch and perch which eliminates the clutch switch. Without the clutch switch, the kickstand switch serves no function and is just a liability. IMO, it's just a crutch anyway and can make you lax. Make checking the kickstand position just part of your mental checklist before taking off, like being in gear. Do we really need a safety interlock to keep us from taking off with the kickstand down? Sounds like an idea some lawyers dreamed up to me.

Just for fun I thought I'd post, ........ I don't think the switch works on my bike, it will run and start with the kickstand down no problem.....I biffed really hard once catching a tree trunk which knocked down the kickstand without me knowing it......I've learned to watch that mfo since.

Just a little rubber tab on side stand like honda used to do to push it up before you grounded it out.
Well our house had all right hand corners for about 3/4 of a mile on a twisty back road.
You guessed it.
Up to speed and first medium left hander probably at 45 mph....BOOM..... Spit him off into a field and destroyed the bike.
So be vigilant about raising the stand...switch or no switch.
