What gearing are you currently running Kenny?

I've got a 13, 14 & 15 front that I can swap between but I always end up coming back to 14/39!

I recon 15/42 would be good for the street. Then you could get the 42 Supersprox on the rear. btw Supersprox will do custom sizes for an extra $10 coz I got a 39 & officially they don't do smaller than 42!!

JT does a 39 tooth pretty reasonable. I got it on Amazon:

JT Sprockets JTR460.39 39T Steel Rear Sprocket
Sold by Kinney Cycles
Condition: New
$24.28, free shipping

Also picked up a 13 and 16 T cs sprocket and will likely pick up a 14 and 15 if I think it's worth doing. I believe I can fab up a case guard to work with the 16.

Hi Joel, My stock setup is front-14T rear-40T. I have to change all, Sprockets and the chain. Im looking for a good set up. Many say the DRC Sprockets are pretty good. I really like this offer Kawasaki KLX 250S 06 on RK 520 Chain Supersprox Stealth Sprocket Kit Gold | eBay

But Supersprox is not in the Webike list Motorcycle Parts & Accessories from Japan - Webike

kenny, that's just a basic (non O-ring) chain in that eBay kit. I'm also wondering about the listing stating - " '06 on " - since '09 up take a different front sprocket than '06-'07 do. And I think the rear sprockets are also different. Proceed with caution.

Go O-ring chain, it's worth the extra money. I'm horrible with maintenance on my 650 and I still get 15,000 from chain and sprockets riding a lot of dirt roads and such.

I think you will find it difficult to get a chain & sprockets kit for 14/40. btw I only like the 14/39 because I have a 331BB & can accelerate hard with 14/39. If I had a 250, I would be using a 40-42 rear sprocket.

All the D-Trackers (SF) are 14/39 & the S models are 14/42.

42R sprockets are easiest to find & to keep very close to your current gearing a 15F/42R would work well.

I would highly recommend a 0 or X-ring for a smooth long life!

These guys will customize any type of Chain & sprocket kit for you. They supplied my DID gold X-ring chain & contacted Supersprox for me to custom build a 39T rear sprocket for me. It's not obvious from their website but just email them & they can supply any combo you want. I got the DID ERT2 Gold & it has needed adjusting ONCE in 10,000km & still looks brand new....incredible chain!

Yah true, well mine is a D-tracker 250E 2006. This is my stock setup, not changed at all, only the chain.
