hey guys attempting my oil change for the first time on my bran new zzr600 08. hit 800 miles figured why not just to clean it out. The very bottom left screw holding the fairng on is about to strip . What do i do? i was taking it off to get the that ungodly tight oil filter the dealership put on. is there anyway i can safely get to it without taking the fairing off so i can just leave that screw alone for the rest of its life??

 

ha ha ha that happened to me the first oil change too... easy fix, all i did was run a tap through to clean the threads back up and put the die in a vice and screwed the bolt into that to clean up the threads on it... i've probably taken the fairing off 15-20 times since then no problems. i'm not sure what size it was though. if you have any friends with a metric tap and die set it should only take you like 15 min to fix.

 

i almost gave up but i got it! good news is i didnt break anything and the oil change whent perfect after that damn thing came off. thanks for the advice i have a feeling thats what ill be doing when the time comes up to do it again.
