1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100 wobble help
Recently bought a 99 zrx and the bike seemed to ride great at first, smooth power delivery, shifts great, lots of torque, etc. Then when I started to get more comfortable with the bike I started going faster and around 90-110mph mark the front end starts to get squirrely and I have to ease up before it goes into a full blown death wobble. This was not some fluke as I am able to replicate it consistently.
The previous owner didn't seem to know anything and frankly I believe him since he doesn't strike me as someone who would go that fast anyway but who knows. I've adjusted the suspension for my weight, put on new tires and had them balanced with correct psi, checked steering stem and wheel bearings all with no luck. I even took it to a mechanic who told me there's nothing wrong with it and that's just something these old bikes do, which I have a very hard time believing.
The only thing left I can think of is a steering stabilizer, but before I spend ~$500 I thought I'd see if anyone here could offer any advice.
Thanks.
