Possible stripped left fork pipe?

So I went to change the tires on this guy and I’ve had a hell of a time trying to get the front axel back in. In goes in about 90% and just seems to get stuck and spin in place. Any tips on getting threads to catch? I don’t think I’m stripped. What do y’all think any tips ?
