Drag Racing 2008 ZZR 600

Last time I raced was on a 1980 Suzuki GS1100E (105 h.p., 535lbs dry). Best starts were cracking the throttle wide open while simultaneously letting the clutch lever fly. I think if I do this with my newly acquired ZZR 600, I will be looking at the sky.

Any tips for a 190 lb. rider? 10,000 RPM? How fast to let clutch out?

My bike, myself and my wife will really appreciate any help.

The ZZR was based on the 01-02 ZX6-R, which can easily raise the front wheel, gotta be careful. I'd start at a lower RPM and slip the clutch a little more than your used to, but you should be able to get a good launch if you do it right, I dont have any specifics for you tho. Drag Racing is really the only time I can ever see extending the swingarm, will definately help if your gonna track it alot.

However even tho it is an 08 the tech is 10 years old, so if you want to really invest in a track ride you might want to update. Good luck and get us some pics!

Augh; the Suzy 1100E....one of my favorites. Those are some seriously over-engineered motors. With a big bore, Carillo rods, knife-edge crank, and a turbo, done properly, you can make over 800hp with one. Amazing to just stand beside when it's loping along at idle.....

Dunno what I would do with 800 horseys between my legs.

*bracing myself for the obvious comments*

I KNOW some of you think I'm lying. I'm not. Good racer friend of mine used top shelf parts and got some big league advice. His best time was 8.59 @ 168. This was about 10 years ago.

If it was anyone else I would have raised the BS flag right away, but instead I googled and altho I could not verify your claim, my mind was set at ease. But I still dont want one, I wouldn't want it to rip my arms off and leave me at the starting line :D

My friend still has that motor.....
I agree; that's probably the most impressive bike engine I've ever been close to. Uses pump gas. You just chuckle uncontrollably when you hear it.

Gadz, where are my manners. Welcome to the forums, Still. Sorry for hijacking the thread. Most definitely, keep us updated on your times and post up some pics!
