300 muffler/header
I have the opportunity to buy a KLX300 muffler and headpipe in good condition for $75 shipped to my door.
I know it's a bit louder than my drilled 250 stocker. How does the sound compare to an aftermarket setup?
Is there any weight savings in the 300 vs the 250 muffler?
IIRC - from my 331 days, the aftermarket kits offer no power advantage over the debunged 300 muffler. Comments?
Another factor MAY be that I add a 300 cylinder/piston and would have the right muffler for the job.
Thanks all.

I can't vouch for weight savings (didn't weigh them), but I recall the 300 muffler felt very slightly lighter than the 250 muffler. The full OEM 300 system (w/o buttplug) definitely improved seat of the pants power over the '09 OEM 250 system.
One of the big reasons I went with the OEM 300 system over any aftermarket system is that it is essentially a no maintenance setup -there's no packing to ever blow out and need to be repacked. Also, it was dirt cheap.

I weighted both long time ago: 8.5 pounds for the 250, 6.5 for the 300. A (mere) two pounds saving.
These weights don't include the header pipe.
