What did you Cook for the 4th...Pics Encouraged!
Well, I was told to smoke a goat.....at least part. roflmao...um ok....I knew this goat, I called her lil biatch, for at least over a year. Well Miss lil biatch got slaughtered and I HAD to smoke her shoulders for my carribean crew and my girl, noone the less.
ok details.
I had to break out the cook book for this one...lol.
Rinsed biatch really good and marinaded with fresh squeezed lime juice and Zesty Italian dressing over night. Pecan and apple wood for smoke and got the EGG to 200. I'll have to mop every once in awhile but the EGG recovers
the temp. That's some Jeff's rub sprinkled over the meat.

About 3 hours later....about 4ish...my goat is lookin good....lol

Well Finger Mullet did smoke some oysters and burgers on the side for the man folk that were not too excited about eating lil biatch goat.....fun day noone the less.
What did ya have to cook today.

Wow that looks good. Sorry no pics, but I cooked hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill, and the wife made potato salad. Almost didn't happen, though, just as soon as the grill got heated up and was about to put the dogs and burgers on, the gas went dead. Had to head out in search of an exchange station. 20 minutes later and we were back on and cookin' with heat.
We hung out at the house, grilled out, and set off some pretty lame fireworks, but the kids enjoyed them. But I remember when I was a kid you could buy kick-*** bottle rockets, bad *** roman candles, m-80's, and I had a cousin that was able to get us these things called "block busters". They were 1/4 sticks of dynamite, or so he said, I believe it, they were dangerous as hell. When you lit the fuse on those things, you best be behind a bunker.
Dang lawyers. Can't get any of the fun stuff any more.

I hear ya on the fireworks.....I bought some bottle rockets and I must have bought the wrong type...all they do is go in the air and then phhhffffttt....I thought they were duds until I read the instructions...thats all they do...wtf.
But I did get to launch the mullet traditional SOLAS signal flare....times two.
Those suckers are awesome....but if you ever think about getting them, make sure they are the white signal flares not red....the coast guard nooone likes the red ones....sayin.
Just sippin Brandy now...house is quiet now.
