Penton Retrospective
There's an excellent retrospective in the new Rider Magazine (last page) on Jack Penton. Those of you too young to remember, Jack Penton was from Ohio, and showed the europeans how to build a dirt bike. Jack did such a good job, his engine supplier KTM (heard of them?) bought him out and used his ideas. When I was a kid, Bultaco's, Maico's, Husqvarna's, and Penton's were bad to the bone. Sure, they're all steel frame monsters by today's standards, but back then, things were different. Ever ride a "big block chain saw?"
