Kx450f can noise on compression stroke when starting
Kx450f cam shaking noise on compression stroke when starting
**Cam shaft noise when kick starting**
Hi I’m new to these forums so go easy on me 😂
I have recently bought a 2015/16 kx450f EFI 3 months ago and have recently noticed a noise from the top of the engine when kick starting if it doesn’t start on the first kick,
now to describe the noise
When you kick start it and the engine doesnt start this noise only appears after the engine has stopped rotating which at first led me to think kick start mechanism maybe 🤷🏽♂️ no it wasn’t that so I read a couple of articles and forums and read about the auto decompression system so pulled the cylinder head cover off to check the spring and that was fine and all moving freely. Although after looking at others my spring looks narrower in diameter, I rotated the engine by the kick start by hand and it appears that on the compression stroke the cams rock forward and backwards after the engine has stopped rotating,
also to mention I have checked the valve clearances and they are within range and towards the higher side
I have posted a video for you all to look at
any info is highly appreciated
im not sure if the clip has gone live on the post but I have attached it
