Default H1-B 500 pics

(This will separate the over 30 crowd...)
Here are a couple pics of my '71 H1-B 500. It's a little death machine, actually. I recall leaving a gas station (horrible mileage) and nailing the throttle. Damn near spit me off. You also don't want to corner at any speed. These things were super in a straight line, though. And, it seemed like they never ran out of gearing! You'd hit 5th at about 80mph and it would keep going! Any speed over 80-90 was asking to meet god up close.
If you look close at the side of the tank, you'll see some discoloration. This is due to an electrical fire (I mentioned in the General Tech post) that occurred while riding down the road. I noticed this white smoke coming from under my tank. "HOLY %$#@!!!" I immediately pulled over and tossed off my brand new helmet (!!) to blow out the flames on the wiring. Scared the crap out of me.
Lots of memories (mostly scary) on this littlescreamer.

Yup all steel. Poor brakes, poor suspension and once the suspension and tires were dialed in, the frame would flex pretty good. All in all, one helluva ride! Don't forget about the middle cylinder getting to lean and hot.
