boo yah. motor's done!!
after 8 years of grimey grime and nasty nastiness, i've finally tackled the beast. some paint, some carbon fiber, and 5 cans of brakleen later, we hav.....
(cue "dun dun duhhhhhnnnnnn")
pre- minty makeover

magic time!

i did all the paint and C.F. stuff.. i don't think it came out too bad..
at least looks better than it did!! lol.. and i did some inspection whilst in the motor when the covers were off.. next is DEFINITELY a valve adjustment.. i had .011" on a couple of em!! AHH!!
i found some kinda loose stuff in the clutch, indictative of an incompetent moron that shouldn't be working on anything 2 wheeled.
(yes. trust me. and the douchbag who stole my bike last year was the one who did the clutch. someday may treat me with the witness of his demise.
but ya.. not bad for a weekend of *** bustin, i think...

thank ya, thank ya!!!
06: the color, believe it or not, is spray bomb. Duplicolor DSM340 Royal Blue. to my knowledge, it only comes in 5 oz cans. i went thru 12 of them painting the bike!! lol
they're a little pricey at almost $6.00 a pop, but the quality of paint it is, and how good it looks (ESPECIALLY when wet-sanded and buffed) offsets it's saltiness..
it has alot of pearl in it and tiny metalflake. its baller in the sunlight.
i've found it primarily at autozone and advance auto parts.. theres a carquest like 125' from my shop.. you think they'd have it.. lol.. bring that would be WAY too convenient thet they're in the same lot as me.. but, nope..lol
A buddy of mine is a paint and body guy, and i think i'll have him order the same color and marbelize it when i get the plastic fixed.. thats next..
for anyone wondering, the blockoffs are pretty much just for show. i tapped the kleen air ports out and made plugs to screw down inside them to block them off, so the C.F wasn't stressed from heat and exhaust pulses. other than welding them shut (more permanent solution, and i don't have a TIG welder..) i didn't think silicone sealant world suffice..
thanks again for the props!! mybe some day i'll get a b.o.t.m. nomination!! lol
