yes, yes there is.

i went to school at virginia tech and there were some awesome backroads that we (the car club) used to go on weekend rides along.can't remember any of the roads since its been so many years, but check the maps for the areas north and northeast of virginia tech.

personally never rode in blackburg.. spend alot of time in winchester tho.. always promised to find a group of 10-30 bikes at sheetz by the mall almost every night.

good twisties around the area, as well as summit point being right down the road!

I'm in FT Lee, VA..... the sheetz by the mall is about 2 mins from ft lee and the group is not getting together there anymore, the manager complained....

In reference at the twisties,,,, that is in the route 5 from hopewell to williamsburg,, nice long ride almost an Hr

Blacksburg is 25-30 mins south of FT lee, is you take I-85 S, you will be maybe 10 mins from the Dinwiddie Race track , and most of the time they have bike and car races on fri nite & Sat..

usually there is 2 or 3 major events like spring , summer and fall motorcycles shows..

I'm waiting for orders totransfer to Orlando, Florida, shoot me an email and
if I'm still here i show you around..
Take care

In my two years at Virginia Tech I found lots of good back roads. I never bothered to learn the name, just knew where they were.

Kohburn what years were you at Virginia Tech?

I was in Blacksburg fall '03 to spring '05.Went back down in the fall of '06 for a football game and the campus look different due to all the new buildings. Claytor Lake State Park, 30 miles south of Blacksburg, is also a nice place to visit.
