Sorry, just seeing this post now. Use a heat gun or my choice, a propane torch. You can find a YouTube on this technique. Basically heat until liquid, then let dry. It's instant and easy, works...

No one is saying it should leak a different type of fluid, we're saying it shouldn't leak, any fluid. My Honda doesn't, my Moto Guzzi doesn't; hell, my Harley didn't.

my 2014 does too. Never loosens, just doesn't seal effectively. It's not going to affect anything, no need to top off, but still shouldn't do it.

I'm still running stock exhaust, carb and CA smog. Removing SMOG made a noticeable difference? Did you do anything else at the same time? I was under the impression it changes nothing.

I believe the only fuel filter is the "sock" connected to the petcock, tank internal. No need for another, just clean it out when you drain the tank.
