'86 ZX10 Part Out!
Hi all; I'm new to the site and registered here because I am parting out an '86 ZX10 that had 27,974 miles on the clock. I ride a little more old school; my personal bike is a '79 1000 LTD. That being said the bike is pretty much complete and NOT WRECKED. The only things missing are the lower fairings, side covers, and seat. I have everything else including a pretty nice full Vance & Hines exhaust. I DO have the upper fairing in fairly good shape (a couple busted places, but nothing bad), tank (couple small dents; again nothing bad), and the rear tail plastic. All in factory paint. I have an engine I believe to be good (will be doing a compression check this weekend) that if good I will sell for $200. Will not ship though! Have to come get it. I'm located in Indianapolis, IN. If you need anything; want pictures; let me know!
Thanks!
David

Howdy David! Good to see someone keeping the old bikes alive. Sorry I didnt welcome you to the site, I guess I missed your post in the new members section, my bad. I'd really like to see this ZX10, is it the same as the GPZ? Guess I'll go check out your pics in the Classic sportbikes section, I love the old school look. See you around, and enjoy the ride!
Edit: Hmmmm, guess thats your only post. Check out the rest of the forum before you go, lots of good info and good people too. Good luck on the sell...

Not much to look at with the ZX10, she's a bare rolling chasis and basket case. I bought her that way. Bought it strictly to sell the parts. My 1000LTD on the other hand is a pretty nice old bike; I'll have to post some pictures of it sometime if I get the chance. I would say its the GPz as Kawasaki's website doesn't register a GPz for '86, they call it a Ninja 1000R. (I use their online parts diagrams for factory part numbers and cross references). I won't be going anywhere soon though! Thanks!

Not sure what you are calling the butterfly on the carbs, but I'm not parting the carbs out. They are in excellent shape and I'm selling them for $175 for the set. However the engine I will part out, let me know what you need from it.
