This is my 2006 KLX250s that I have been building. I built this bike in order to fill a niche that I didn’t see being filled by bikes on the market. Wanted something light, with some decent power, with a transmission wide enough/with enough gears to do cover longer stretches, and was easy on maintenance. I built it with doing some big trips in mind, like the TAT, but unfortunately, that hasn’t happened, and other plans have taken over. I am moving in October and won’t be in the position to use the bike for quite a while due to traveling, so I would rather sell it than store it for a 2+ years. Here’s the part list:
AdvMonster Dual Sport Fairing w/ Model 44 LED’s, low beam light has a controllable dimmer. These are bright!
Acerbis 3.7 gallon tank
Seat Concepts Seat
Highway Dirtbikes Ultimate Handguards, 1 1/8” bar top clamp, and Vapor mount
Renthal Fat Bar 1 1/8” Reed/Windham Bend
Roxx Risers 2 inch
Trail Tech Vapor, with working speedo, RPM, temp, turn signal indicator lights, neutral light, and high beam light
Oxford Hot Grips Adventure Model
USB charger & RAM ball mounted on bar
Acerbis KX Front Fender
Ricochet Off Road Aluminum Skid Plate
Extreme Dual Sport Tuff Lite LED turn signals
Shorai Lithium Battery
Bill Blue Stainless Front Brake Line
RSC Short Clutch Lever
IMS Super Stock Footpegs
Shinko 244’s, less than 1k miles on them, lots of tread
Wolfman Front Fender Bag (New)
I still have basically all of the stock parts that were switched out, including the old motor core and stock carb. I also have a Bill Blue TM34, that is unused, went with the TM36 instead. There is a EBC Dirt Racer clutch kit that I never put in. Not sure if I will try to sell some of this separately, open to sending it with the bike possibly.
I bought the bike from a local Fire Department with maybe 700 miles or so on it. It was their “search and rescue” bike or something. It was completely stock. I rode it until it had 2k miles on it and then started building. The new motor has 150 miles on it now. It runs reliably, but I think there is room for the jetting to be better. It starts without choke, idles beautifully, and runs pretty well when it warms up. I can supply video of cold start and idling. The front tire seems to have a slow leak of some sort. I think I probably pinched the tube when I spooned it on or something. Asking $3500 OBO, happy to discuss the bike.
