WATCH YOUR KICKSTAND!!!! PLEASE!!!

-Sorry for the caps

My friend just purchased a Ducati 750ss and while at work- the asphalt melted and the peg sunk in 3" before knocking over and messing up the side of his bike. Luckily it was a private lot and the hospital will be paying for the damages.

In the event you livein a high heatarea- place you bike on concrete or use awood/material square under the peg to prevent this from happening to your bike.

I give out 3x3 pieces of 1/8th in aluminum plate to all my friends who ride. Keep it in your pocket, or else under your rear seat... have been using them for 15 years - works great.

Last year, that almost happened to my bike too. If you have a carrying bag or tank bag, it's a good idea to keep a hockey puck or small metal plate to put under the stand.

Thanks for the headsup ................but I am one step ahead of you on that one . I put a block of wood under my stand at work and everyone was like ' Why are you doing that ? ' after I explained it to them they're all doing it .......I was amazed at how many of them had never heard of such a thing . Peace

I also usea piece of wood at my office.A sunken sidestand there would really ruin my day- possible bike damage and a hole in MY asphalt.

Ride long enough andit will become an unconscious habit to put your stand down on something to keep it from sinking.

Alternately, find concrete to park on or park where the sun doesn't hit (North side of a building). I have also parked on the grass, nothing too soft, and found a large enough rock for the sidestand. Or flatten an empty can with your foot. A newspaper folded several times can work.

Our local DMV is actually smart about this- they have adedicated motorcycle parking area that is concrete.

Yea I had that happen once to me, it sucks when you keep your bike upright and then the sun takes all that away;)
