Well, been shopping for a 2001-2004 Tacoma Pre Runner for a few months now and have finally found a few that are in my price range.

What really mad me mad (I was going to say something else...) was, one of the trucks near my town keeps going up and down in price. First was 17.5k, then 16k, I called and the price went back up to 17k, ...few days go by. Price went back down to 16k. I get interested again, and think aboutcalling and the price went back up to 17k. What the hell is going on?!?!?!?! Either way, I am giving up on this truck and giving those people the bird.[:@]

I find another truck, and it's 70 miles away. No problem. I make an appointment to jump on the steal of a deal. 13k miles and $16k (Exactly what I want. Prerunner, double cab, silver, etc.) I make arrangements to go, and the appointment gets rescheduled. Someone else may have first crack at it now... [:@][:@] I just want a truck! Jesus!

I would love to have a new(er) Tacoma, but they're so damn expensive! With Toyota's, you might as well buy them when they are no older than 3yrs old since after that, the depreciation value levels off and doesn't go down much further as the years pass.

 

Toyota's rock I have my first one still and it has 290,000 miles on it...the 4runner I got handed down has 312000 miles on it although the 4 runner does need some work it still drives wonderfully.

 

Yeah, not much for foreign trucks, but they are alot better than they used to be. Tacoma's are pretty nice. The only advice I can give you is if the guy starts jerking your chain around just leave your phone number and go home, you will probably have a message waiting for you when you get there saying they are ready to do business. Of course it may be different at a used car stealership

 

Rains...did you ever get that RS-5 put on??? good luck with the truck hunting...have you looked into and of the Nissan trucks??? DG has a pretty awesome Nissan...threw her bike in the bed and hauled a trailer over 2000 miles!!! not a single hick-up the whole trip and it got pretty decent gas mileage...

I did look at the Nissan Frontier SE/XE/SC with 4x4... They are pretty cool- but I have a horrible track record with the cars I buy. I seem to sell them every year. I was hoping my next purchase I would keep for a couple years,so with that in mind Idecided that a tacoma would bemy next truck...mainly the reviews and specscombined with the looks helped.

Toyota trucks are great.

I got a 1980 Toyota pick-up 4X4. Its basically an off-road toy but runs awesom, especially since the truck is older than me!

I'm taking it to Banning, CA tommorrow (my buddy has a 1976 Toyota Landcruiser FJ-55) and we are going to hit up some trails...should be fun.

I used to have a 1968 Toyota Landcruiser FJ-40 (Jeep Wrangler looking) and it was a really good truck too, cant beat the dependability of Toyotas.

I soldmy FJ-40 on-line to a guy in Ohio (i live in CA) the guy (sight unseen) flew out to CA, bought the truck, and drove it back to Ohio.

No problems, he drove it back across the country....crazy bastard.
