Msn music no longer exists as of November 14th 2006. When Microsoft launched the Zune player, they took along the msn library with them! I think their bit rate was 160kbps. (yes, the higher the bit rate, the better sound quality.)

This whole online music is a big pain in the *** because of all the copyrights that restrict this and that. If you look into all the restrictions, it will amaze you of what what certain sites won't allow you to do with the music YOU paid for.[:@]

http://music.msn.com/search/all/?ss=twisted+sister

I just downloaded " I wanna rock" by twisted sister, and seemed to all work the same.....Click the buy button, then clicked confirm, and it saved it to my Music library in Media player. You know what you need? A music download forum! lol lol.... I bet there's one floating around.

I guess I never read the restrictions, etc..

And the 8 track I just burned was awesome quality!!!! lol lol......

I was just on msn's site, and there isn't anyplace that I see where you can hit the buy button. In it's place is a link saying: "what happened to msn music downloads?" When you click on it, it says what I posted earlier about the Zune.

The other thing about downloading music is I don't want to use MP3 files. MP3's don't generally sound very good.

I record all my music tracks to the mp3 player as a .wav

I never knew if that was right or not, but it works so far! lol

Punch in " music download forum " in google and there are some forums with interesting reading. I learned more about mp3, wav, DRM in the last 15 minutes than I ever knew.

I remeber when I was young and knew everything. lol.... What happened?

I used Rapsody and paid around 14.00 a month I downloaded not bought downloaded around 1000 tracks and then copied them with a program called Tunbit. The only problem with tunbit is that it records at 4x. I would just build up what I wanted on my cd and burn it in wma format. I now have 1000 tracks of my own and can reburn as much as I want and store on any devise as well. The good thing is I dont have Rapsody anymore, but can still play the tracks I copied from tunbit.
