Ninja 650 Lowering Link/Seat Height

I just bought a 2016 Ninja 650, had the dealership (who Ive been having issues with during this buying process) install a 2inch lowering link and kickstand to go with it. The stock seat height is 31.7, and (being held straight up, evenly) I measure the top of the lowest part of the seat and end up with 30.5. I would think a 2inch lowering link would lower it two inches, am I right? Has anyone had their 650 lowered and it be a legit 2 inches?

Hi Justine,
without knowing what brand of lowering block you had installed can't help that much. I had a Versys (the adventure style version of the Ninja) and used a Motowerk Lowering block. I had a look at Motowerk website and found this information on the Motowerk Lowering block for the Ninja.
"The kit lowers the seat by 1-1/4 inch or 25 mm lower than the original seat height in conjunction with lowering the front suspension.

This is the maximum safe lowering effect without causing any interference with the bike's rear suspension, preload, or rubbing."

Hope this helps. BTW I trust Motowerk he is a very good engineer and designer. Also did the shop drop the forks at all? That should be done to balance the difference in handling from dropping the rear, again full instructions on Motowerk website.
