Anyway... its a cyclecross bike. My buddy recently introduced me to this kind of bike and i found it very interesting. So the blue bike was on sale on a website and i couldnt pass it up. Its a Blue Norcross SP.

Cyclocross is is a form of bicycle racing. Races typically take place in the autumn and winter, and consist of many laps of a short course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstruction and remount.

I liked the idea because its a bike with road properties and speed but has knobbie tires so it can go anywhere. So now i can go for more like street rides and not worry about much. The Trek will be my trail bike. I have been doing 40-50 mile rides on the trek, i hope to be able to do more miles on the blue because of the road gearing.

Nice looking rides, man! I remember years ago, I had a jones for biking every morning; like 10-12 miles before work. Had a Fuji with Profile road bars, Brooks Team saddle, and a little computer...loved it. Got to the point where my knees were screaming at me, so I don't do it anymore. I understand the addiction. It's GREAT exercise. Be careful out there...

EMS:
That's a purdy ride. I've been hearing about cyclecross around here but didn't know what it was. Now I do. Thanks for the explanation.

I dont plan on doing cyclocross but the style of bike is intriguing. I knew of hybrids which are mtn bikes with road tires, but i really like the idea of road bike with knobbies. There are a ton of rail trails around here ill be doing alot of those. I am planning on doing 4-5 MTB races this late summer and this will help me get into good shape for that.

Cool looking bike. I've never heard of Blue, but I've also been out of cycling for quite some time. My mountain bikes leans on the wall next to my KLX. I can never seem to bring myself to hop on that instead of the motorcycle.

I hadnt previously either. They make some pretty high end bikes though. Spend some time in the woods on a mtn bike you will be better on the KLX. MTB are harder to ride in the woods fast than a dirt bike. It will really help your skills. I find much enjoyment in MTB in the woods, as much as the KLX.

I had been running on a treadmill over winter to stay in some kinda shape. That really killed my knees. I bought an exercise bike off craigslist that i had been on a couple times a week. I just stopped the treadmill and had been using the bike, way better on the knees. It doesnt even come close to a real ride on a bicycle, but its something. I did start running in the woods, trail running, that doesnt seem to be as hard on my knees, probably because of the soft dirt. They say biking is one of the best things to do for knees, No impact exercise.

Rode a local park yesterday, did 11.8 miles felt good, but pointed out how im not in the same shape i was before winter.

I took the new bike over to my buddies also so he could do some fine adjustments.
