Has anyone been suprised by some music that you though would bite, but didnt???




Case in point..... The wife just bought hilary duffs' new cd "Dignity", and had it in her car when i went to change theoil. I pulled up to jiffy lube JAMMING some hilary duff, and everyone looked at me like i was bonkers. I will be the first to admit that it has some really catchy beats. SO.........I now own it.

wow. i got tears in my eyes from that one.

metal, classical, classic rock, old skool rap and blues are whats good. everything else is FAKE!!


looking at music today from a musicians p.o.v., all the new stuff in almost every category isn't even worth my time, and thats sad.

I like alot of the new stuff, but I am mostly into indie rock, not pop.

i dunno.. i'm biased, i guess.

i just don't feel that music carries the same values and feelings as older music does. i have a WIDE range of what i like actually, but just the newer stuff just doesn't have the heart to me...

i had something else on mind, but the train derailed as i am multitasking right now. guess maybe i shouldn't be multitasking!! lol...

 

Whitehendrix... I too am a musician. Just because it isn't your style doesn't mean it's fake. For example, take Avenged Sevenfold. They are a group of DAMN fine musicians. Synyster Gates is probably the best shred guitar player out right now. But you see these guy's names, and you have to laugh... Synyster Gates, M. Shadows, ect. There is a lot of good music out right now, you just have to find it. Another example is The Used. Very talented guys (although Bert McCracken, vocal God that he is, has a chip on his shoulder that makes me shudder). The sound may be different, but for the most part, it still comes from the same place.

 

Oh yeah, and if you think new music sucks, check out Dream Evil
