idiots
went to idaho today for a trip to the lake...never seen so many idiots in my life. idaho doesnt have a helmet law. so everyone you see is riding around without a helmet..even the ones from washington. they have their helmets strapped to their bikes but didnt use em

RE: idiots
sounds like wisconsin, indiana and illinois.
|
RE: idiots
I still would never, ever, vote for a helmet law though.
|
RE: idiots
+Ohio...
|
RE: idiots
plus 1. its their saftey not mine. so if they wanna risk their lives go right ahead
|
RE: idiots
we dont have one here in cowhampshire either... id say 1/20 wear them, but on the other side... we have very few bike accidents and almost no fatalities. you also see a chit load of those "motorcycles are everywhere" bumper stickers, so id say its not realy a problem.

RE: idiots
and big +1 on the not voting for a law mandating it.
im 100% for freedom, if it can hurt someone else, then there should be something to govern it i.e:drunk driving, firearms, logging etc... but if it can only hurt you i.e: helmets, seatbelts, cigarettes etc... then it should be left alone. |
RE: idiots
No helmet law in Montana either
|
RE: idiots
I wouldnt vote 4 one either butnothing reallyaffects just you. all it takes is one idiot screaming through town or rippin a wheelie down main st to have the popo crack down on every biker in sight andwhen some dude (orlady:D)faceplants at 20mph with no helmet and needs 100,000 or more in reconstructive surgery when they coulda walked away wearin a lid. that effects us all when our insurance goes up and gives congress another reason to try to shut us down alltogether. not to stereotype but around here about 90% of sportbikers wear helmets and prob only 10% of crusiers wear em wonder if its a look cool over saftey thing
|
RE: idiots
in PA, you have to have your motorcycle license for 2 years before your allowed to go without one.... Ill always have one one.
|
RE: idiots
to each their own. i wear mine and always will.
|
RE: idiots
the benefits to a full helmet are more tan just crash safety.
i've had stones bounce off my facemask that got kicked up by cars infront before, and i'm not even talking about gravel roads.. |
RE: idiots
NM is the same way, over the weekend my son and I played "count the squids"
|
RE: idiots
Lost count at 200+ driving through PA on the way home yesterday. I agree that it shouldn't be mandated, but I have actually had a helmet save my life in an ATV accident. It's not even a decision for me...helmet 100% of the time.
|
RE: idiots
i would be dead four times over if it was'nt for helmets;)
|
RE: idiots
I have always wear my gear when i ride. Helmet, glove, jacket, and jeans and alpine star boots. I also have a 16 yo son that rides and he wears all his gear as well any where anytime. I have 2 HD bikes as well and wear a half helmet when riding it. It sucks getting hit by denris and road grime.
Was on my way to work today and a kid flew by me on a sport bike, helmet, t shirt, shorts and deck shoes, he had to be doing 85-90+... Thats why the popo is so bad on us riding our sport bikes. He stopped and payed the toll bnooth and i passed him. Im cruising 65 and when he passed me i thought was a d bag..... |
RE: idiots
Unfortunatly i got another reminder just today bout wearing helmets my heart goes out to their familys
