Level3 has stopped peering with Cogent communications, leavng some Roadrunner customers out in the wind with isolated pockets of connectivity. Based upon your other descriptions - this is unlikely to be the problem, and I would be more inclined to go with a spyware or virus problem. Do you have another computer you can put on your modem just to eliminate it from the equation?

Ok, it turns out the modem was bad because I was instantly back online with the new modem. As far as the computer, it did have a dormant Trojan virus on it which was deleted by AVG without any other problems. Guys thanks for all the help.

hahahah, no, my cell phone company just loves me right now!! LOL We spent at least four hours on the phone Friday night . . . and most of Saturday too. We talk all the time. I'm just hoping things go well; he'll be here Friday to spend the weekend. Let's just say this weekend will determine where things are going. Oh yeah, he joined this site too, lol. He busted me in the "our female riders" thread, haha!

Ok, first let me respond to bluebird, No you don't have to be on your best behavior. LOL He knows how I feel about him and having him catch me say it in a thread is no big deal. He'll be coming up this weekend and we'll see how things go. (Sorry Pete, he won't be at the Vortex this week.)

In an update on the computer problems . . . after getting the comp up and running, running a virus scan (I did find an unexecuted Trojan), and getting a new modem and my RoadRunner back online, it crashed again last night. Now the computer is running perfectly, but my internet sucks! The modem will say it's fine (two solid, two blinking (RCA model)) but I'll lose connection. At first, if I waited an hour or so I'd be able to get back on.

Then last night it crashed for the entire night. I'm starting to think it's a problem with the cable or the connection, and not my computer. So I told Time Warner to get their butts out to my house ASAP!!!! They'll be there Thursday. I got the internet up this morning and we'll see if it's still on when I get home. Other than that, my cell phone bill just keeps going up, lol. I've got a new phone coming Thursday as well. I signed up with a new company to see if I can spend even more time talking to Riggz.
