Default grrrrr help. hard choice

ok so going along with my other post about kids in mx.
i am ready and got the wife at about 95.785634535% ready to buy.
now no way would i pay 4k for a new ktm65 there is a 30 day warranty but thats hardly worth buying new.
i have managed to find 2 good deals on used. and thats where i am stuck.
$1500 for a good shape (from pics, havent seen in person yet) 2008 all stock
or
and this is where it gets hard.
$2500
for 2 bikes
1. 2007 stock
1 2006 mod
and a bunch of spare parts.
now these i just saw in person today. no doubt they have been ridden. the guy didnt clean them up and make them all shinny to try and make them look better than they are. the stock bike looks like what a 07 would look like but has a torn up seat.
the 06 has about $1500 worth of mods and probably $400 worth of spare parts. pipes rims forks etc etc.....

i like the idea of 2 bikes if even just for a whole extra parts bike. but at 2500 it just oh a little more than i wanted to spend.

on the other hand
a stock 08 is fine till i start to mod it and before i know it im way over the 2500 and could of had 2 bikes. the ony bad to the 2 bike deal is tires i would need new tires at least one set and telling the wife i just spent 2500 on a bike and have to buy new tires just wont set right with here lol

someone chime in here im really torn on which way to go.

That is a tough call. If you have the $'s and know what you want....? You are going to have to look at all of the bikes before you make a decision. good luck

Get the single good ktm ... provided it passes your inspection.

No Brainer....don't buy into all that other two bike bs ....if a deal seems too good ....walk.

Get what you can afford, family first bro. There will always be a better deal down the line so dont worry if you cant find one now. Good luck and get some pics up

but the cost of those cheetos is pretty high lol

you guys make it sound like a simple call. i was up all night pricing 08's so that is weighing on on it. 1500 for an 08 is unheard of.

the 2 bike deal is something that i would have to get them home and do a little wrenching on before i was all set.

the 08 should be a all set ready to ride for a little bit.

i just really like the mods on the 06 and thats where i am stuck.

Mods do not add value to a ride, imo. A customized ride is customized for the previous owner, not for you. How many mods could you do with the 1000 you saved, and how much will your son learn by helping install them? I'd buy the better ride, then jump on the mods.

great just great well add an 09 into the mix with only a couple hours on it.
from what i understand the 09 and 10 are a lot faster right out of the box.

at 3300 very top of my range but retail is like 4300
