Deer repeller, anyone try one?
I was salvaging a set of piaa fog lights from a wrote off truck in my father in laws lot today and came accross one of these installed in it:

I was going to salvage it too, but was running late for the hockey game, and wanted to see if it was any worth while doing before i started digging for more wires.
Anyone have or heard of how these things work? they make a motorcycle harness for it too.

Here is my deer repeller
on the other hand I can count the amount of deer I've seen in the city in the past 18 years on one hand.
They better watch out I may only be using the iron sites on the rifle but I'm my aims not to far on from 100 yards away. The orage is about as wide as a persons from shoulder to shoulder

They are not fool proof but they help. They put out a high pitch noise that supposedly makes the deer kind of freeze up before they run out in front of you. They are not foolproof!

That's funny Asz. Here's mine.[8D]
But seriously anything we can do to keep moving objects away from us is always good. The deer devices have been around for some time, and have been improved on, so I say go for it.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! lmao.....
I don't know if those work or not. I have never hit a deer, come close. I had a buddy hit a deer on his Harley, and his bike is LOUD...If the dumb *** deer can't hear that comin, I don't think a whistle is gonna help. LOL.....I figure, it's cheap enuff, if it stops at least one deer from runnin out, it paid for itself.
I'm gonna google and see if I can find evidence of it workin or not.....
edit: google results. I learned summin new. lol
From what most of the articles say that the deer's hearing frequency is, the electronic deer repeller you are looking at runs a different frequency than deer can hear. I think, lol....I read to much.

http://www.deercrash.com/Toolbox/CMToolboxWhistles.pdf this one, on page 5, actualy shows that the whistles had a higher rate of making the deer run towards the vehicle. LOL
After reading numerous articles, I have decided that they don't work. LOL....oh well.

The real way to repel deer is by using predator scent. You get wolf **** and smear it all over your bike. The deers survival instincts will immediately take over and the deer will stay as far away as possible.
