Eastbound Richmond-San Rafael closed, rig traffic banned

Article Launched: 01/04/2008 09:28:02 AM PST

The California Highway Patrol has shut down the eastbound direction of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge and have closed the westbound lanes to big rig traffic after multiple rigs overturned due to high winds.

A Pepsi truck and a Safeway truck fell on their sides within 20 minutes of each other beginning around 8 a.m., prompting the CHP to shut down eastbound traffic.

The CHP has also banned rig traffic from traveling on the bridge. Information on any injuries suffered was not immediately available.

sorry to hear about you being stuck on roofs. Just remember to double check those tie downs so you don't get blown off.
