Bicycle carbon-drive belts

Yeah; this is off topic. However, with all of the bicycle enthusiasts on our forum, I thought you might enjoy the "next big thing." Came across the Gates Carbon-drive belt system for bikes, today. Looks kinda cool. I just hope finding replacements are not as impossible or expensive as they are for motorcycles!!!

Is there a version we can use on our motorcycles? That would be cool! Think about it, no more lubing, no more noise, no more cases getting whacked and broke. Work on some answers Jeff. LOL

I'll get right on that, Deejer!!! ;)

(Harleys and some of the cruisers use belt final drive. Gates makes the majority of those replacement belts.......and they are unreasonably expensive. Remember some of the posts on here about "replacement belt for my Vulcan..." or whatever that was? I like the concept, but I think the serviceability issue hasn't caught up, yet.)

The belt drive bicycle isnt really anything that new....

Only problem is that there can not be any speeds.. Single speed only.

That first "bend" in the fork where the upper-most horizontal brace meets.....looks kinda fragile. A "full boogie smack" on a 10" log looks like it would buckle. I would've extended the rear-ward brace straight up to make it stronger. Could call it the "fly swatter" fork!! ;) Maybe just my observation?
