Back from Hawaii!!!

10 days in paradise had to come to an end sooner or later. As as Tropical storm Flossie approached on the day we were supposed to leave, all flights in and out of Hawaii were cancelled. Then when we got a flight, it was delayed by 7 hours the next day, so they put us up in the Hilton ($300 a night for free) we finally got back into Seattle on Tuesday around 5:30 in the afternoon. Here is a quick rundown of the trip. Our group...

Mike and Darcy (Our best friends and the ones that organized the whole trip
Sam and Randy Mike's mom and dad
Mitch and Patty Darcy's mom and dad
Austin (Mitch and Patty's Grandson)
Mitch and Michelle friends from Wenatchee
and then my wife and our son Christian

All of these pictures were taken with my Iphone, I probably have 1000 higher quality pictures from my Nikon that I haven't even looked at yet. If I find some more really cool ones, I'll add to this.

Driving to Seattle from Forks 3.5 hours. Here we are crossing the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. heading to our motel in Seattle. Flight out in the morning.

A few nights before we left Mike and Darcy took us to a place called the Blue Dragon, live music, great food, and the best service I have ever experienced. Its 40 minutes North of Kona, but well worth the drive. The open top restaurant had misters that kept you cool.

I had the Lamb Chops, first time ever, and I loved them!!!

This was my appetizer, Pork Belly in a mango glaze, I heard of pork belly but never had it, and let me tell you it was THE BOMB!!!!! In fact when dinner was all over and everyone was ordering desert, I got another pork belly. That's how I roll! hahahaha

I tried to fix the picture that was upside down but it won't rotate in photobucket...oh well continuing on.

The third night were there we drove to the opposite side of the Island to Hilo, to have dinner at a friends house we met 3 years ago when he came to Forks to do some Elk hunting. Him and his family and friends put on a dinner that will never be matched. Then after dinner Ed gave every couple a hand made bowl that he made that normally sell for $400 and up. Then he hand signed with an engraver to each couple. What a cool guy. He's from there, now we have a friend for life.

Dinner is started....

So we get back home at 11 at night, get to bed at midnight, I go to work the next day and then after work I head to Sequim on the bike since a buddy of mine wanted to meet me there from Seattle, We rode the 112 highway toward Neah Bay, then I headed home. All of this with my being sick and both ears plugged. I told him I was a good friend. LOL

A friend of his was up from Texas, Ole has the 1991 ST 1100 so he let his friend ride that, and Ole's tax guy let him borrow the Gold Wing, and mine of course is the best bike the 2005 red ST 1300

I love Hawaii. What island were you on? Renting a house is the way to go. We stayed at a B&B on an old Kona coffee plantation on the big island the last time we were there. It gets you away from all the tourists. We're hoping to go to Maui this winter.
