I'm not evil but my sis in law is.... She has to shoot insulin 3x a day..... She's been that way for about 7 years. What do you need to know man, and I can ask her...

 

any information on useing the insulin pump. im going in for one in about an hour, well to see about getting one. so yeah just wondering how its going to hold up while riding and such and all that good stuff. im going on 28 years of shots and im about sick of it.

 

I asked her but she has not used one... she said they put it inside you with a digital controller. She says they are really expensive and her insurance doesn't cover it, so she never got one and doesn't know how it would do riding.... I tried tho man..

 

cool, thanks for trying. i guess im going to go to one of those pump wearer support groups or something. i had a hell of a time getting my insurance to cover the pump too, but when they hear that kidney failure and dialasis and going blind they kind of step it up and pay for half it not all of it. if your sis calles minimed and talks to the people, they will help her and do most of, if not 98 % of the work and dealing with the insurance co. 30 more minutes till i go in, i kinda feel like crap now, i dont want to go.

Yep I am.. I just got a pump and its great.. animas 1250ir.. dont worry about ridding with the pump.. you wont even notice.. you might have to adjust your site depending on how and where you lean. its great though.. let me know how it goes for you

 

damm, i just got home. after the last 15 years of dr's trying to talk me into getting the pump, i finally go for it and my insurance covers 100% of it, this jack *** dr tells me he wants to try something else and wont sign the papers. and yes i offended him by asking wtf his problem was and wtf was he thinking. not a good day at all. im actually pretty pissed off right now. ill be back later.

 

That's just F'ed up...I guess you did not get the pump... wtf did the Doc want to try???

 

a new kind of long acting insulin he just recieved a bunch of samples of. bull sheit. ill have that pump in my hands in 3 days or less. this is crap.
