Another '86 ranger pu V8 conversion
#11
hah, heard there goes the paycheck or in my case paychecks.
Have another built AOD on its way, this one is for the 4x4. (Silver Fox MVB, Edge converter)
The other built AOD for the 2x4 is on the bench with the lentech MVB.
Both tranny's will sport the mega shifter from B&M.
Working with Advance Adapters on the Atlas transfer case. So getting closer to shoeing that combo into the 4x4.
The 2x4 engine is still a work in progress though. Still crunching out ratios, combos and heads for it. (This engine is not on the stand yet.) as in not bought yet since the 4x4 transfer case is abit spendy and is taking precedence over the 2x4 setup at the moment.
Have the Moser 9" 35 spline Nodular ready to assemble for the 2x4 on the bench. 4:11 US Gears, Powertrax Grip Pro setup. Looking at the 4:86 U.S. Gear 35 spline Yukon Nodular setup for maybe next month's to do list for the 4x4, or may just buy the gears for the 4x4 and install those into the Moser section. Time will dictate that decision and I will buy another center section anyhow.
I agree on the not much Meat yet on this topic. Thankfully I was not on a time limit! Just a budget that I put together of $10K per Ranger. The 4x4 is definitely going to be close to that number with the engine combo, AOD, VB, Transfer case and rearend build. The dana 44 TTB was already on hand, but will need to be re-geared. The disc brakes, plumbing, pads, etc will put me over that number in the end. But wthell, you only live once.
