1980 Honda CB650?
 

I have an chance to buy a honda cb650, 1980. You guys who are a little older thanme...lol.. trying to be nice... any comments on this bike? I was born in 83 so im a little too young to know about them... good bikes? did some research says it has 63 hp... It would only be $600. Looking for some input here guys.

well i guess this where the older peeps come in:Deric i started out on a 78 honda cb 550. older bikes are great to learn with on the street. theres hardly any plastic to break if you drop it. but one thing that threw me for a loop is, when you learn on a standard MC the headlight and mirrorsmove with the handle bars. on a fixed fairing bike like a ninja they don't. so it triped me out at first, but i would say it's a good beginer bike. just make sure it's in good shape when you go to buy it.

You were born in 1983?.......Crap!! I'm old enough to be your dad. Dang it!! I had an 81 CB 450 in fact that's the bike I took the test on, and I couldn't ride anything over a 500 for a long time. Then or some reason they got rid of the different classes of bikes here in Washington. I have a chance to do a half days electrical work for an old Honda, I'm going for it. I'll let you know what I find out.

i have an 80sompething cb750custom and i must say its a pretty sweet ride. but as far as $ goes i picked mine up for $23.50 with a busted head, a cracked tank and a rotted throttle cable:D
a few weeks later i had a $100 bike.... to bad it was febuary[:@]


oh and if you do anything to it i suggest an aftermarket exhaust right off the bat, the ones on there arent very fun (muffled and whimpy sounding), and the baffles restrict the airflow way to much
