My friends Vulcan is doing almost the same thing except it does it when ever it wants(I.E. driving down the road) Any ideas? Yes I know the thread died a few months ago..

I'm not sure if it's the same problem, butI havetried everything to resolve this. "Good News!" I finally figured out what the cause of my problem was.

After replacing the starterrelay switch,, ICU, rectifier which none of them helped. It would intermittently not do anything while pressingthe starter button in. Every little trick I'd try had nothing to do with it either, one time moving the bike a foot worked, another time lifting up the kickstand worked.

I cleaned the contact's of the starter switch and it worked! I'm sure of it becasue even when it did start "everytime" I would notice a millisecond or two hesitation before it would actually crank the engine. Now it doesn't do this, it's an instant contact - for sure.
