tackling clutch
does any1 know how to go about changing out the clutch on the zx-9?:eek:

welcome to KF. straiht forward job really. just stack the plates just as they were in the bike so you remember how the new ones go in. soak the new ones before install.

Check out the manuals in the General Discussion. The 9 is similar if not exactly the same as the zx7's, or the 600 ninja's. As mentioned, keep things clean and organized and soak the new plates. Welcome to KF.

Make sure you torque the spring bolts pretty consistently with each other, too. Don't just wonk on the ratchet handle.
As mentioned, keep work area clean. Same goes for clutch cover mating surfaces; clean, oil-free, (but don't use abrasives or gouge the surfaces when removing old seal) let the sealant set an hour or so before you final tighten. You don't need a manual; you've got US!!! :) |
I have a manual in front of me on the 02 9r. The clutch section is 10 pages. So I can give you specs or special tools if needed.

Thanks alot for all of ur help fellas. i most definitely could not have done this without you all. I now intend to tackle a new mission. I got my hands on a extra carb for this machine. Any suggestions?:rolleyes:
