So I got a 2000 zr9 that the guy put a motor from 98 in it everything turns over it still has the 00 wiring harness and cdi box fuse box but I'm not getting spark obviously there's some things different between the two Motors like I see that there is a sensor on the side of the block on the 98 not the 2000 I think it's for the tachometer but is it possible to swap a 1998 zr9 motor into a 2000 zr9 thank you for your help I'm really new to the zr9 this is my very first Kawasaki

I recently bought a 2000 zx9r, having fuel problems currently rebuilding the carbs. With your problem I'd think the motors can be swapped assuming all the sensors and plugs are compatible. Or usually you'd need to change the harness.
