Default having a fuel issue with my 9r

runs fine after first run. but when it sits engine bogs down and sounds like it's being smothered. when i try to give it more gas engine seems to flood. tried to take it in here in so cal, but shop damaged my bike and did not fix it. so never take your ride to California speed dreams in perris, ca
it pisses me off for it hauld *** and is fast as hell, but when i have that problem a 250 can pass me like i'm standing still.
so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What do your plugs look like? (Yeah; I KNOW they're a %#@$ to get at..)
See what color deposit you have on your plugs. They may even be wet if you are truly running rich.
What year is it? Carbs or FI? What did the shop try to do (unsuccessfully, it sounds) to fix it? If it's carbs, and it "runsfine after the first run" it sounds like the amount of gas in the carbs (float bowls) may be too much, initially, and then resumes the proper level after a run. Do you turn off your gas petcock when you shut it off? Try that.
Give me more info re: year, carbs, FI, etc. Maybe I can help.

check the fule tank vent, the air filter and most important the condition of your battery. if you don't have enough power after the starter cranks the ignition will run like crap till you ride it and charge the battery. if this is the proublem try replacing the battery walmart will sell you a good one for 50$ or maby look into a battery tender to keep it charged while it sits or start it often for a bit even if not going for a ride. hope this helps.
