What happened to zx7rider.com ?

Been out of the loop for a while... but I noticed zx7rider.com is down and has a registration splash page from network solutions... what's up?

Been ok... hellish summer, part of why I evaporated for a bit... may be around a bit more now - have to see if things from work calm down. Why is the site down? :(

I don't know about that site, so can't answer you there.

How has your hunt been going for a 7? I hope you either found something or are getting close!

RE: What happened to zx7rider.com ?

No real luck on a 7... have looked at 2 very hard over the summer that came close.... but it was always something that messed it up :( I have had pretty much unlimited use of an 05 GSXR 600 for the summer, and while the motor is great... the handling leaves just a little bit to be desired. I think it is mostly because it is very narrow and tall - at least compared to a 7. Even a zx9 could out-handle it I think... just doesn't have the stability and confidence of a 7.

There is a guy at work selling a 98 ZX9 for 4000 with 13k on it. He has babied it, and has no mods except a pipe... not even turn signals or fender/plate eliminators. I am considering it, but I really would prefer a 7.

Oh - I also heard a rumor that the 7 is coming back in either 07 or 08... apparently in response to MotoGP going to 800s for next year, and the fact that Suzuki has not killed the Gixxer 750.

So yeah - I am still keeping my eyes out for a 7... it is hard to find a 93 to 95 that doesn't look it's age, beatup, etc or have a zillion miles on it, and seems like it is even harder to find a 96-2002 that hasn't been dumped. :( People just don't take care of their rides anymore. :( :(

Until I find the right bike - I am content with my pal's Gixxer 600... he likes to buy toys but not use them, so I might as well, right? :) It just isn't the same however, and the non-hydraulic clutch got me in trouble once when it delayed on re-engaging. Luckily I felt it slip as I got on the gas through the turn, and got back off just in time before it grabbed... the rear jumped out just barely... but it would have tossed me if I still had the power on.

I actually got my wife to ride once... we never went over 25mph and only in neighborhood streets. She was ok with it, albeit a nervous wreck - and she doesn't like not having a seatback behind her. She said unless it is a Goldwing or somesuch - she probably will not ride again. Ah well. :(

Thats too bad - I was keeping my fingers crossed for you. Glad to hear that your wife at least gave it a try, who knows, she just might warm up to it - weirder things have happened!!

Good to hear you're at least getting some time back in the saddle!
