thinking of buying a 98 zx7 it looks to be in great shape has 24000 miles on it. the guy wants 1200 bucks for it. anyone have any horror stories or things that commonly go wrong with it. ive been told its a good bike and ive been told its junk. if anyone can help me out id be forever greatful thanks.

Do a quick search on bore/stroke and some more history on that year. I have been extremely happy with my 90 zx7.

 

always in agreeance with drag..

great bike. very capable, strong and pretty nimble..

have a '00 myself, but have never had a mechanical issue. just electrical.
other than that.. otta be money well spent

paid 3500 for my 01 with 12k miles so Yea, seems like thats a good deal

 

i posted a "good things to know" thread here once.. i'm sure its still around.. thats a few of the things i've learned of the machine over the years of working on em and owning one..

$1200 is an absolute steal tho.. you can part it out and make more money than that!
